Welcome to my World!

Hi! Well since this is my first post I will say a little bit about myself and the how when and why of my crafting addiction. I am a twenty year old young woman living the simple life in Tahlequah, Oklahoma. I am engaged to a wonderful man who loves me and supports anything I want to do. I am a vegetarian and Unitarian Universalist member ( I know very strange being that I am from and live in Oklahoma- redneck central). Now to the good stuff, I have always enjoyed art and creating things. I literally can't recall a time in my childhood that crayons weren't on my favorite toys list. My birth mother was a crafter so I guess it is in my blood. My mom ( who was technically my step mom, but I don't see it that way) liked to craft so I started crafting and creating right along side her. It was great bonding time. When she died when I was seventeen I realized that I had no tangible memories to give to my then four year old brother. It broke my heart so I started scrapbooking everything, scared of history repeating itself. My first few books were gifts for others, only about a year or two ago is when I started scrapping my stuff. Now I do ever year scrapbooks. But, I stopped any other crafting it hurt to much. Late 2009 I was hit very hard by depression and anxiety I had to stay at a mental hospital for two weeks. When I returned home I knew I had to start doing something to make me fill worthy of life. Since it was close to the holidays I started making homemade cards for everyone I knew and Christmas gifts too, and I just haven't stopped. I make everyone I know a birthday card and random cards every year. I try to make all my gifts homemade but that does always work out. Here recently I have been challenging myself to try new things with everything. It is quite fun. There is my tale of how my addiction came to be. I must say though I love being addicted and I hope it never ever changes!!

Happy crafting!!
