Busyness

I have been uber busy because my husband and I are applying to our local college NSU. I did manage to make two cards and a layout. I hope to accomplish more tonight. The layout is the first picture, it was for COW# 13. We had to use a favorite quote or poem. My quote is on the pocket it says: "dogs have owners cats have staff." We needed to use either a decorative edge punch or scissors to make a border, my is the brown though you can barely see it. Then a embellishment of our choice, I chose letter stickers for the title, button, and ribbon. This layout was the last one for my 2010 album! I am so proud of that book it is my best yet!! The second picture is of a birthday card for my cousin in laws baby boy who is turning two next week. The third picture is of a card a made for my aunt last night. She found out Tueday that she is having a baby girl but also found out that the unborn child has a hole in her stomach with something sticking out of that hole. My aunt is very worried(rightfully so). She lives in Texas there really much I could do so I made her a card to show her she has my love and support. Well that is all for today! Leave me a comment. I love feedback. Happy Crafting!!

My Crafting Space

This is my first crafting space ever!! I am so proud of it. It took me all weekend to get it this way! I read a book called The Organized and Inspired Scrapbooker. It really helped. My space is tiny but I love it! It is my husband and I's bedroom so I can craft and be with him!! I can't wait to actually create something in it tonight!! All that is left to do is decor and get a trash can lol. I made all my storage containers out of stuff I had around the house!!

Soap Making Class

Thursday March 24, 2011 I went to a soap making class at my local library. The have a different crafting type class every month I have gone every month since I heard about it. I had it in my mind that it was going to be difficult and time consuming but boy was I wrong! It was so easy and fun!! All we did was melt glycerin blocks in the microwave, choose soap safe dyes and scents. They also had oatmeal, coffee, and cinnamon we could choose. We stirred all the contains together poured it into a mold of our choice and waited for it to set up (about 15 minutes). We got to make two. The blue one in the picture I used blue and lilac dye, oatmeal, and apple scents. The second one I used orange scents and yellow dye! All the supplies are pretty cheap on amazon.com!! I can't wait to make more!!!

Tuesday Night Fun and Wednesday Excitement

I created this stationary set for a craft it forward project. I cut blue copy paper to the size I wanted at the top stamped the girls initials with letter stamps and black ink and used a cute robot stamp I got at the dollar store in the corner with black ink also. I used a envelope template to make the envelopes, and used the same robot stamp with indigo ink on the envelopes. I created the holder with cardstock and patterned paper. I just cut a piece of the patterned paper and sewed it onto the cardstock to make a pocket. Very easy but cute. It is my new favorite gift to make.
I made the Splashing in to Say Hello card for the Stamping Royalty Contest. The layout is of the pictures Danny took of me right after he told me he loved me for the first time during Mothers Day weekend 2010. The layout was for COW# 3 we had to use circles, stripes, metal more than one tag or frame, and two or more photos. I have one more layout and I am done with 2010 scrapbook! I made all of this Tuesday night. I didn't create anything last night because I got married yesterday!!!!!! So Danny and I spent yesterday together. I do plan on doing at least a little something tonight though probably not much since I have a soapmaking class tonight at my local library. Well I hope these projects helped inspire you.

Monday Night

Last night Danny and I watched Megamind! Good griefers that is one funny movie. I definitely recommend it. After the movie I created a little. I did a layout for this weeks COW. We needed to use an outdoor photo(s), a stamp of some kind, a pocket, and photo corners. I incorporated the stamp into my title. I got it from free digital stamps blog (like always). The card is for my grandmother who loves spring! I got the digital stamps off online same blog has the other one, I colored them with sharpie's. The background was a scrap piece of patterned paper.
I got my order from scrapbuck.com in today!! I am so excited!! I can't wait to create with it tonight. I am also only two pages away from finishing my 2010 scrapbook!! Have a good tuesday. Get inspired today!!

Sunday Kinda Lazy...

After Danny got off yesterday at 5 pm we ate dinner and went to the park. This is the first time we had gone to park since we moved here. The parks here are just pathetic! We came from a place that had big beautiful parks. That trip yesterday just made me miss them even more!!! But the positive side of that trip I got some very cute pictures I can't wait to scrap them!!
When we got home I decided to do a layout. It was for COW#2. We had to use a flower, brads, ribbon, and orange and yellow. I did the page with
the pictures from News Years Eve pictures. I really like this page. I am so excited I have three more pages and I am done with my 2010 scrapbook! Hopefully I will be creating a layout and a card tonight. I do have a women's group that I attend at my church tonight so it is a late night for me. Happy crafting!! Thanks for stopping by!

Spring Equinox Service

Today at church the pagan group, CUUPS, lead the service. It was the Spring Equinox service. So much fun! It was all about rebirth and reawakening. They held a drumming circle and planting ceremony. Everyone chanted and had a unplugged instrument and put a spoonful of dirt in the planting pots. It was so wonderful my soul felt so connected to the people and earth around me. This time in my life is all about change. So today was even more important to me. I love spring time and it is so nice today that Danny and I are going to spend some time in the park. Maybe there will be some scrapping worthy moments and I may gain so inspiration!

Card Mania and Sister Love

I didn't create anything Friday night. I decided to talk with my future mother in law, which ended up being a great decision- she wants to start scrapbooking!!! I did make 8 or 9 cards on Saturday!! 3 for the Stamping Royalty contest, 4 for Children's Hospice- a follower blogger is doing it and asked for help, and 1 for my sister who just got her first apartment and I made her a frame! All cards were made with scrap patterned paper, digital stamps that I either found online for free or made using windows and clip art. They were colored with colored pencils or fine tip sharpie's. The sentiments were done with either sharpie or letter stamps and black ink. Here are the pictures:

Late Night Creations

First of all I want to apologize for not posting yesterday day. I am looking for I job right now and spent yesterday going to daycare's around town handing out my resume. I did a card Thursday night along with a layout. Early Friday morning I did another card. Friday night we watched a movie but did that stop me from crafting? Oh no it didn't. After the movie I created two cards, some envelopes, and a layout! Tonight Danny works late again so I plan on doing at least one layout, at least two cards, and some envelopes. Oh and try my hand at making my own digital stamps jeepers I am nervous about that one.
This first picture is of the layout I created late Thursday night. It was for COW# 11 on SJ. The theme was favorite family activity, my family loves Scrabble. We had to use chipboard, so the S and B are chipboard letters I colored. The title had to be two words. We also had to use shapes other the square or circle, so I used wooden hearts. I didn't have any pictures of us playing scrabble so it gave us an excuse to play. I am laughing in the picture because Danny was complaining about how good his brother Jamie is at the game. During Scrabble you can almost always here laughter coming from the kitchen table.
The second picture is of the layout I did late Friday night. It is COW# 1. I know way out of order, I found out about the COWS when they were on number four so I am going back and doing the first three as well. The theme was holiday so I picked Christmas my second favorite holiday ( the first is national scrapbooking day which is May the 7th this year!). We needed to use chipboard so I use the tag that has the date on it, I colored it red. Journaling had to be on the page. Usually I hide my journaling but this time I decided to display it. Last but not least we were to use buttons. These gold buttons had been given to me when a friend was purging their stash, I had no idea how I was going to use them but I kept them just in case. I am so glad I did being that they went perfectly with this page. The pictures are from my favorite moments of that day. Me surprising my brother by waking him up, his reaction was "don't put me on Youtube" we all laughed at that. My brother, Caleb, playing with one of his new toys. He as got such I big personality. My sister, Lorian, who is only sixteen months younger than me being silly. Last but not least by far is Caleb reading a book to me on his own for the first time ever! I cried like a baby.
The third picture is of the one year anniversary card I made for Danny. The digital stamp I found online for free. I can't be sure but I follow a blog that posts free digital stamps here it is: Free Digital Stamps. I colored the image with colored pencils. I thought it was to plain so I added the cute buttons with hot glue. I think it is adorable and I hope he likes it too. Now I have to wait a few weeks to give it to him, and figure out his gift!! I found men are very hard to shop for. By the way I created this Thursday night before he got home from work so between 8:30 and 9:15.
The fourth picture is the card for the holiday card swap. I had so much fun creating this one. We had to use light blue so as you can see I did lol. The patterned paper was a scrap given to me. The digital stamp I found online for free. I colored it with colored pencils. I then wrapped ribbon around the left side and tied a bow at the top. I was very please the outcome. This is the card I created early Friday morning.
The fifth picture is of the card I created for Stamping Royalty contest. Obviously It is for the birthday category. The patterned paper was a scrap given to me. The flowers are a digital stamp I found online for free. The sentiment I downloaded of papercraftsmag.com for free. Though this card is simple I think it is elegant. I will moatly likely be making this one again.
The fifth and final picture is of a random card I made for a friend. Who doesn't like cards? The patterned paper was a scrap given to me. The digital stamp I found for free online. I colored with color pencils. The inside has a cute sentiment about friends. This card is simple but adorable.

I will be creating some more tonight. Hopefully I will post tomorrow. Enjoy your evening! Get inspired and create!!

Weekend Goodies

Happy Monday everyone!! I hope everyone had a good weekend. Mine was wonderful! I got a lot of crafting done plus it was absolutely beautiful weather ( Saturday I was wearing shorts and sandals).
This is a birthday card I created Friday. It is for my fiance's grandpa who loves golf. The golf cart is a digital stamp I found on the internet for free. I just went to Google and typed in free digital stamps and searched for a golf image. I am a member of Scrapjazz.com a great scrapbooking networking site ( if you aren't a member I highly suggest joining it is fun and addictive!) They have monthly challenges and this months card challenge you needed to color a stamp and have glitter on it. The glitter on my is the dots behind the cart I made them fake golf balls flying out the back. I used fun scissors to cut the green plaid patterned paper to look "hilly" and the flag is made out of construction paper. I am very pleased with this card.
This is a scrapbook page I made of my engagement pictures. On Scrapjazz the users decided to do COW's (challenge of the week), each week a member posts a challenge. Last week the challenge was: some circles, some stripes, reference to a body part, and something 3d!! I took a series of circles and put them on the right side of the page. The title is written on them: Affair of the Heart. I mounted the pictures on striped paper and the 3d embellishment is the big pink flower in the bottom left hand corner. The journaling is hidden behind the pictures. I am a huge fan of hidden journaling, more room for cute stuff.
The second scrapbook page is of Christmas lights my fiance, his family, and I went to see in a park called Honor Heights Park in Muskogee, Oklahoma. I have only recently started stitching on my
layouts. I love it! Though this is the first layout where I stitched part of the title, and I never would have if it wasn't part of one of the monthly challenges on SJ(Scrapjazz). This layout is fairly simple but good nonetheless.
This last layout is of Thanksgiving. It was my fiance and I's first Thanksgiving together. It was the first Thanksgiving I cooked. The only thing I didn't cook was the turkey( I am a vegetarian). This layout was also a result of a monthly challenge on SJ. This challenge was to use leftovers to create it. We were only allowed to use one full sheet of cardstock, which I used to mount my patchwork paper quilt on. Everything on this layout is leftovers from other projects. I love using scraps it's so resourceful!! I had no idea what to do for this challenge so I put it off till Saturday. My fiance, Danny, suggested that we take a walk. Being out in nature always helps my creativeness start flowing, and sure enough it worked. Though I didn't finish it til Sunday afternoon.
I should mention that all these layouts are for my 2010 in review scrapbook. I scrapbook each year and I only have 5 more pages and I am done with 2010!!
These next pictures are my first ATC's( artist trading cards) I am still adjusting to the size of them. This first one is titled Life Tree. It was created with craft paint, bubble wrap, and oil pastels. Out of the three this is my favorite. I am a pagan so I identify with and connect with nature. So a lot of my artwork is nature related. The second one has one of my favorite quotes on it. Sadly I can't remember what I titled it. It is made with craft paint, ink pen- black, oil pastels, and a metal charm. Butterflies are a metaphor for freeing oppressed women to me. I am a feminist if that was not clear. The third and final one is titled "Loving-Mother Earth". It was created with oil pastels and paint glaze. I am not sure if I like the paint glaze. Mother Earth is my God. I wanted these ATC's to encompass me and what I am all about. I think I accomplished that.
Well thank you for looking at my newest creations. I hope they will inspire you to create something of your own.

Happy crafting!!

Weekend Fun!!

Wow this my second post for today lol. I haven't done any crafting all week it is seriously killing me!! So I am staying home tomorrow to craft all day long!! Plus I will get to craft all day Saturday and some on Sunday!! The only sad part is I don't have internet access at home so I will have to wait til Monday morning to post all about my weekend and post pictures. I do know I will be doing three layouts, a few cards, and at least one tye dye shirt. Maybe some ATC's (artist trading cards) and making my first digital stamps!! I will post pictures of everything I promise! Enjoy your weekend.

Happy crafting!

Welcome to my World!

Hi! Well since this is my first post I will say a little bit about myself and the how when and why of my crafting addiction. I am a twenty year old young woman living the simple life in Tahlequah, Oklahoma. I am engaged to a wonderful man who loves me and supports anything I want to do. I am a vegetarian and Unitarian Universalist member ( I know very strange being that I am from and live in Oklahoma- redneck central). Now to the good stuff, I have always enjoyed art and creating things. I literally can't recall a time in my childhood that crayons weren't on my favorite toys list. My birth mother was a crafter so I guess it is in my blood. My mom ( who was technically my step mom, but I don't see it that way) liked to craft so I started crafting and creating right along side her. It was great bonding time. When she died when I was seventeen I realized that I had no tangible memories to give to my then four year old brother. It broke my heart so I started scrapbooking everything, scared of history repeating itself. My first few books were gifts for others, only about a year or two ago is when I started scrapping my stuff. Now I do ever year scrapbooks. But, I stopped any other crafting it hurt to much. Late 2009 I was hit very hard by depression and anxiety I had to stay at a mental hospital for two weeks. When I returned home I knew I had to start doing something to make me fill worthy of life. Since it was close to the holidays I started making homemade cards for everyone I knew and Christmas gifts too, and I just haven't stopped. I make everyone I know a birthday card and random cards every year. I try to make all my gifts homemade but that does always work out. Here recently I have been challenging myself to try new things with everything. It is quite fun. There is my tale of how my addiction came to be. I must say though I love being addicted and I hope it never ever changes!!

Happy crafting!!
