Weekend Goodies

Happy Monday everyone!! I hope everyone had a good weekend. Mine was wonderful! I got a lot of crafting done plus it was absolutely beautiful weather ( Saturday I was wearing shorts and sandals).
This is a birthday card I created Friday. It is for my fiance's grandpa who loves golf. The golf cart is a digital stamp I found on the internet for free. I just went to Google and typed in free digital stamps and searched for a golf image. I am a member of Scrapjazz.com a great scrapbooking networking site ( if you aren't a member I highly suggest joining it is fun and addictive!) They have monthly challenges and this months card challenge you needed to color a stamp and have glitter on it. The glitter on my is the dots behind the cart I made them fake golf balls flying out the back. I used fun scissors to cut the green plaid patterned paper to look "hilly" and the flag is made out of construction paper. I am very pleased with this card.
This is a scrapbook page I made of my engagement pictures. On Scrapjazz the users decided to do COW's (challenge of the week), each week a member posts a challenge. Last week the challenge was: some circles, some stripes, reference to a body part, and something 3d!! I took a series of circles and put them on the right side of the page. The title is written on them: Affair of the Heart. I mounted the pictures on striped paper and the 3d embellishment is the big pink flower in the bottom left hand corner. The journaling is hidden behind the pictures. I am a huge fan of hidden journaling, more room for cute stuff.
The second scrapbook page is of Christmas lights my fiance, his family, and I went to see in a park called Honor Heights Park in Muskogee, Oklahoma. I have only recently started stitching on my
layouts. I love it! Though this is the first layout where I stitched part of the title, and I never would have if it wasn't part of one of the monthly challenges on SJ(Scrapjazz). This layout is fairly simple but good nonetheless.
This last layout is of Thanksgiving. It was my fiance and I's first Thanksgiving together. It was the first Thanksgiving I cooked. The only thing I didn't cook was the turkey( I am a vegetarian). This layout was also a result of a monthly challenge on SJ. This challenge was to use leftovers to create it. We were only allowed to use one full sheet of cardstock, which I used to mount my patchwork paper quilt on. Everything on this layout is leftovers from other projects. I love using scraps it's so resourceful!! I had no idea what to do for this challenge so I put it off till Saturday. My fiance, Danny, suggested that we take a walk. Being out in nature always helps my creativeness start flowing, and sure enough it worked. Though I didn't finish it til Sunday afternoon.
I should mention that all these layouts are for my 2010 in review scrapbook. I scrapbook each year and I only have 5 more pages and I am done with 2010!!
These next pictures are my first ATC's( artist trading cards) I am still adjusting to the size of them. This first one is titled Life Tree. It was created with craft paint, bubble wrap, and oil pastels. Out of the three this is my favorite. I am a pagan so I identify with and connect with nature. So a lot of my artwork is nature related. The second one has one of my favorite quotes on it. Sadly I can't remember what I titled it. It is made with craft paint, ink pen- black, oil pastels, and a metal charm. Butterflies are a metaphor for freeing oppressed women to me. I am a feminist if that was not clear. The third and final one is titled "Loving-Mother Earth". It was created with oil pastels and paint glaze. I am not sure if I like the paint glaze. Mother Earth is my God. I wanted these ATC's to encompass me and what I am all about. I think I accomplished that.
Well thank you for looking at my newest creations. I hope they will inspire you to create something of your own.

Happy crafting!!
