I did two part journaling: The first part is the recipe and the second is my memory of the first time I made this.

COW# 16- Poetry Reading

Sorry I know it is a little late posting last weeks challenge, but Mother Nature decided to flood the lake I live by and trap me at home. With no internet!!!!! Anyway this last weeks challenge was: dry embossing, inking, ribbon, and brads. I had never dry embossed before so I tried it... I liked it and I know it will look better with practice. I embossed the photo mat though you can't tell it in the picture. I inked the tag and attached the ribbon. The shiny brown tile looking stickers I used because the reminded me of the floor at the building where the picture was taken. This event was the first poetry reading I participated in.

April Counterfeit Kit Challenge

Over at the Counterfeit Kit Challenge Blog they show a popular kit and then you get to go through your personal stash and create your own kit that is similar. This month's kit was "A Little Birdie Told Me" by Front Porch Kits. You use the kit you created to make a layout or card or more projects. I don't have a lot of supplies compared to other crafters but it was fun to see that even though I don't have a boat load I still could make my own kit. I have never bought a kit before so I found this very fun. I can't wait to do it again. Here is my kit:In my kit:
a piece of lace
pieces of pink ribbon
yellow ribbon
2 chipboard flowers
chipboard letters
buttons
silver glitter glue
4 tea bottle caps
flower stickers
black and white bird
black and white butterfly
3 paper leafs
5 black and white journaling blocks
12 x12 orange solid color cardstock
2 scraps of black cardstock
piece of pink construction paper
12 x12 piece of teal and white cardstock

This the page I created using the kit. I put the teal and white patterned paper on top of two of the bottle caps and used yellow ribbon and buttons to make my own flowers. I colored the chipboard letters black for the title, and used two of the journaling blocks behind the title. I matted the picture of me with the pink paper and matted the picture of Danny with the black.I really enjoyed this page. On the bottle caps are on top of the piece of lace.

Happy crafting!!

Dream JAD Challenge

For my first assignment on the Dare to be Different design team I needed to use the word Dream somewhere on my project. Well I have been trying to get better about scrapping about me so this was the perfect opportunity. I used one of my favorite pictures of myself from the day Danny told me he loved me for the first time. Since my shirt is bright red in the picture and I am outside I decided to with a brown background a red and white patterned paper and red ribbon and fabric flowers ( I think I maybe in a flower phase). I decided to do the title and journaling in white to tie in the white on the patterned paper. Though this layout is fairly simple it is one of my favorites. Happy crafting!

COW# 14- Let it Snow

I did this page for last weeks COW. It was fancy and female. We had to use pastel colors and fuzzy type embellishments. I used lace which you can barely see and a fabric flower. Handmade Envelopes

I make these envelopes by hand! They are super easy and fast to make it literally takes 5 minutes to make one. Every time I send a card I send it in a handmade envelope. When I sale my cards they come with a free envelope. Sometime soon I will post a video of the process but for now I will put written instructions.
The template:
Take any envelope that is already made I find different sizes at garage sales and flea markets. With your craft knife unfold the envelope to one large flat piece. Put that on top of whatever page you want to use and trace. Cut out your traced envelope and fold in the small flaps then the bottom one on top of them. Glue them and you have a handmade envelope. Happy crafting!
